My first
counselling qualification was
the Edexcel certificate in
Therapeutic counselling back in
2003. I worked as a volunteer
practitioner for the Nottingham
counselling service for over 3
years. During this time I also
provided counselling for
businesses offering counselling
services for their staff
(Employee assistance programme).
I fully qualified as a
counselling practitioner
(Masters) in 2006 at Nottingham
University. Since qualifying, I
had my own private practice in
Nottingham for several years. I
practice the person centred
approach and this underpins my
work.
Person-centred therapy uses a
non-authoritative approach that
allows clients to take more of a
lead in discussions so that, in
the process, they will discover
their own solutions. The
therapist acts as a
compassionate facilitator,
listening without judgement and
acknowledging the client’s
experience without moving the
conversation in another
direction. The therapist is
there to encourage and support
the client and to guide the
therapeutic process without
interrupting or interfering with
the client’s process of
self-discovery.
If you have any questions at all
please make contact I am happy
to answer your queries. If you
would like to take the next step
to see a counsellor/therapist
then we can arrange a day and
time for you to come over for a
free consultation. I offer a
warm inviting place to talk. |
